It was always hockey before bobsleigh for Caelan Brown.
Growing up in the Greater Toronto Area, she played AA girls hockey along with many men’s teams in high school, and at The Hill Academy where she played alongside many OHLers and a handful of NHL draft picks.
Her love for bobsleigh came while living in Whistler in 2022/23 where she got to know many Canadian sliders. She did a pilot camp led by four-time Olympian Chris Spring, attended four OBSA push camps in Lake Placid over the summer months, and went to a Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton recruitment camp in August 2023. After spending the month of October training in Whistler, she got named to the National Bobsleigh Program.
Did You Know... Caelan is currently I her third year of biological sciences at the University of Guelph. She hopes to complete that degree with a minor in animal sciences and then attend vet school to become a large animal veterinarian. Her most memorable time sliding was that first time going from the top of Whistler in a monobob. She crashed hard, but went back up and had a great run. Her parents are role models for their dedication and moral importance. She also looks up to the more senior bobsledders in the program for their hard work and respect in sport. Caelan is a certified open water diver. She played summer hockey in Prague one year during high school.
