Lyndon Rush Slides to Sixth Spot at Four-Man Bobsleigh World Championships

KONIGSSEE, Ger.—Lyndon Rush piloted the Canada 1 bobsleigh to sixthplace at the World Championships in Konigsssee, Germany on Sunday.
Rush, who won two bronze and one silver on theWorld Cup this year, teamed up with Edmontonians David Bissett and NevilleWright, along with Ottawa’s Cody Sorenson to post a four-run time of 3:17.51.
Germany grabbed the top-two spots on the podium.Manuel Machata, Richard Adjei, Andreas Bredau and Christian Poser set the timeto beat at 3:16.58.
Karl Angerer drove the Germany 2 sled to thesilver medal with a time of 3:17.10. Angerer’s crew consisted of ChristianFriedrich, Alex Mann and Gregor Bermbach.
Steven Holcomb’s United States crew of JustinOlsen, Steven Langton and Curtis Tomasevicz rounded out the podium in thirdspot at 3:17.26.
The four-man even wraps up a successful WorldChampionships for Canada’s bobsleigh and skeleton athletes. The two-week eventwas highlighted with a bronze medal by Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse in women’s bobsleigh, a bronze medal by Mellisa Hollingsworth in skeleton and afinal third-place finish in the team event.
