Canada’s Olympic Bobsleigh and Skeleton Medallists Drive into Toronto to Launch New Olympic Cycle and Commemorative Song

TORONTOCanada’s medal-winning bobsleigh and skeleton athletes will drive into

Toronto to begin another four-year Olympic cycle, and unveil a new commemorative

song written and produced by Juno award-winning Canadian pop artist, Melanie Doane,

during a media luncheon at Rosewater Supper Club, October 5, 2010 at 11:30 a.m.

 

Coined “Chat with Canada’s Champions,” the luncheon will provide media an opportunity

to speak with each of the medal-winning athletes committed to sliding during the 2010-

11 season which will officially begin the track to the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia.

 

Singer-songwriter, Doane of Halifax, will be on-hand to release the new theme song Canada’s bobsleigh and skeleton athletes will adopt in their quest for the international podium.

                   Heather Moyse – Olympic Gold Medallist, Women’s Bobsleigh

                   Helen Upperton – Olympic Silver Medallist, Women’s Bobsleigh

                   Mellisa Hollingsworth – Overall World Cup Champion, Olympic Bronze, Skeleton

                   Lyndon Rush – Olympic Bronze Medallist, Four-Man Bobsleigh

                   David Bissett – Olympic Bronze Medallist, Four-Man Bobsleigh

                   Melanie Doane – Juno Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter
