Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton Extends Condolences to Stopa Family

May 23, 2013

On behalf of Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton's Board of Directors, staff, athletes, and coaches, we are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Pat Stopa, president of Alberta Bobsleigh Association. We would like to express our sincere condolences to the Stopa family.

This week the Canadian sliding sport community lost a dedicated man whose passion and excitement for the sport truly embodied what our nation's athletes endeavour to be.

Be it in his legal career working with Calgary-based law firm Caron & Partners LLP, or standing trackside supporting Canada's bobsleigh and skeleton athletes at all levels, Pat challenged those around him to be their very best, and push the limits in their respective pursuit of excellence.

As a result, Pat was extremely well respected in the Canadian sliding sport community. On behalf of everyone who shared Pat's passion for the sports of bobsleigh and skeleton, we extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time to his entire family.

Pat will not be forgotten!

Sincerely,

Reid Morrison
