The North America Cup of Bobsleigh and Skeleton is an annual event on the international development circuit calendar for bobsleigh and skeleton athletes.  The event is part of a North American series that as stops in the four Winter Olympic host cities of Lake Placid New York, Park City Utah, Calgary Alberta and Whistler British Columbia. The international federation FIBT, and the host nations sanction these events.

Each year Bobsleigh CANADA Skeleton hosts one or two events that see approximately 200 athletes and coaches in attendance.  Last year we had participation from the following countries:

  • USA, Australia, Belarus, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Slovakia, Korea, Germany, Russia, and the host country of Canada

The event lasts seven days, and is comprisedof 4 days of training and 3 days of competition. The event, consisting mainlyof National Development bobsleigh and skeleton athletes working their waytowards garnering a spot on their nationals 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games.These competitions are crucial in the technical development cycle of theathletes as they learn new tracks and higher-level competition before trying toearn a berth on their nations National team competing at the World Cup level.
